ios update
the apple website says ios 10, 11, and 12 are available for ipad but unable to update past ios 9.3.5

An 8-year old iPad 2 ( 2nd generation ) cannot upgrade beyond iOS 9.3.5.
Its internal hardware is too old, way too underpowered and completely incompatible with iOS 11, 12 and all future iOS versions.
