IOS update for tablet

I have not had an update for my tablet and my wife’s in a long time. I have checked and it says it is up to date. Both tablets are slowing down when looking things up online. Is there any updates coming soon to help with this? Do I need to take them both to an apple store!

The iPad you list in your bottom signature, in your initial posting says iPad running iOS 12.

iOS 12.3.1 is the current iOS update version.

What iPads do you have and what iOS version are they running?

If any of these iPads have been stuck on iOS 9.3.5 or iOS 10.3.3 for the past few years, these iPad cannot be updated beyond those versions.

Those iPads have internal hardware that is too old, underpowered and completely incompatible with any newer, current or future versions of iOS.
