Mail quits unexpectedly & continuously
Problem started today (7/13/19) and is occurring on both iMac using 10.11.6 (early 2008 iMac) and MacBook using 10.13.6 (late 2011 MacBook Pro).
Mail works fine on iPhone.
Any suggestions?

Who is your eMail provider?
I suspect that since it's happening on 2 Macs that there's a malformed eMail on the Server, disconnect from the Internet on one Mac, open Mail... if it doesn't crash look at the last eMail received, then in a Browser login to WebMail, see which ones areny downloading to the Macs, delete them if possible.

Tremendous! So far, so good. (My email provider is Apple.)
I did as advised: Disconnected from Internet on one Mac and opened Mail. All was OK. Opened browser on yet another Mac in the house and logged in to iCloud Mail. I deleted all non-essential email received from the last time I know mail worked until the time that that problem started yesterday. In addition, I emptied Junk email folder and Trash folders. Reconnected to Internet and mail downloaded. Mail is staying open!
