Activation lock

I bought the phone off a friend I have no idea where he got it but it has the activation lock and I have no clue or if I can get that activation lock off does anybody know any tricks or is it possible

Only the person whose account it's locked to can potentially help you, nobody on here, nor Apple, can help you (Apple also won't help you find that person). Ask your 'friend' for a refund.
