iMac12,2 boot issues

I have an iMac12,2 the started random rebooting and receiving error message “CS5ServiceManager needs JAVA 6 installed....” Followed install instructions. Still reboots at random with same error.

restarts to: hardware test: all ok :HD Test & repair ; all ok: reinstalled MAC OS; reboot ok but “CS5....” error remains. I’m attempting to reboot to Safe Mode to remove CS5ServiceManager but now all reboots stall at ‘white screen’

NEXT?

Try the Safe Mode boot. Failing that, try the Recovery boot, first try local and then Internet. Failing that, repairs.

iMac12,2 is iMac (27”, mid 2011).

Back up, back up again, erase and format as GPT HFS+, reinstall macOS High Sierra (no Mojave support for this iMac), and migrate in your documents but not your apps. Could be a corruption, or could be corruptions secondary to a failing hard disk drive. Diagnostics don’t show all failures.

Adobe CS5 and Java 6 are both long unsupported. Options here include Flying Meat Acorn, GIMP, ImageMagick, and newer Adobe bits...
