iTunes backup

Hi

My iTunes software is up-to-date My iPhone 7 Plus software is up-to-date my laptop windows 10 software is up-to-date when I Connect My iPhone to my laptop windows 10 and open up iTunes and try to do a backup I get backup corrupt. I go in to iTunes preferences devices to delete the backup but there is no backup in there to delete. Is there a different way to fix this ? Thank you very much for any help on this
