You never mentioned it was for purchased music. Purchased from where exactly?

If it was purchased from the iTunes store, then you can download it directly the the iPad from your Purchased list, assuming you are using the same Apple ID on both devices.

Apple is not forcing you to do anything. The alternative to using Apple Music is to use iTunes on a computer. Don’t make it sound like you don’t have a choice. You may not like the choice, but Apple isn’t forcing you to do anything.

If you purchased this music from iTunes on one device and want the same downloaded music to appear on your other devices. there are two ways to do this.

Go to tbe other iDevice without the purchased music on it.

You can go into the iTunes Store app and under Purchases, in the media purchased listings that appear, look for and re-download the music from that location and that will download the music content to that device.

The other way is to go into Settings app on both devices, under the iTunes and iOS App Store setting, under Automatic downloads, toggle ON music on for both iDevices.

Anytime you download music from iTunes on one device it will automatically download to the other device.

Best of Luck to You!
