Macbook Pro 2018 Operates Very Hot

I have a 2018 fully loaded MacBook Pro 6-Core w/ the Pro 20 card and the computer has always run very hot. Even if just running finder. I switched from Chrome to Safari to help offset the temp and that helped a little bit, but it strikes me as odd that the computer runs so warm when running little processes. Just writing emails with it on my lap and my legs and hands get uncomfortably warm. This is my 8th "pro" apple laptop since 1999 and none were ever like this.

Any ideas on how to solve or am I just S.O.L.?

As you have seen with Chrome, some apps can affect heat production. So can anti-virus software, so-called "cleaning" apps, and torrent software. This Apple article discusses the software effect on heat:

To see if something about how you use the computer affects heat dissipation, look at vent locations. Air intake is usually through the keyboard or vents low on the case's sides. All MBPs exhaust hot air through the hinge area. If either type is blocked, internal heat will rise. Here is where they are on a 15-inch Retina MBP (actual photo is from an earlier model but the location is basically the same for the 2018):
