Can't get out of dark mode

My Iphone 7 will not go back to light mode. It stays in dark mode when it is not scheduled and if I try to select the Light appearance button, nothing happens.

Under “display and brightness,” select “night shift,” then “manually enable until tomorrow.” It should them prompt you that it will require you to get out of the “dark mode.” Select okay. Did the trick for me.

It says that it switches to Dark Mode: off but it isn't. Everything is still in dark mode and if I go to settings>display it shows that it is in dark mode.

Are you using iOS 13.1.2?

Only thing I can think of doing next is either easing the device and reinstalling iOS from scratch or take your iPhone to an authorized apple service location.
