Home sharing not working on 2019 Imac after Catalina upgrade

After installing Catalina, Home sharing has stopped working. I read the posts which told me to enable it in System Preferences/Sharing/Media Sharing. I from this pane I enter my apple account and password as directed and select Home sharing checkbox. After entering the correct password and selecting. It grays out then comes back with the box unchecked and no warning or error. As if its done the requested action. The box is unchecked for home sharing and home sharing remains off. Any help? I've rebooted several times. There is no question I have the right account and password. With this issue and the failures in Apple Music. My Music Imac is pretty much useless.
