My AirPods have been having some trouble connecting to my Macbook Air lately. They say connected, but no sound comes out and soon after disconnect. They work fine with my iPhone, though. Anyone know how to fix this?

You have not told us which generation AirPods you have, nor anything about your MacBook Air (e.g., age, operating system version).
I believe AirPods Pro require MacOS Catalina 10.15.1 or later.
