Airpods Pro AppleCare Warranty

Hi,

I am considering buying the newest Airpods Pro in the US and ship it back to Taiwan for my family. I would like to know:

the basic different between buying AppleCare ($29) and no AppleCare is that AppleCare warranty covers accidental damage for a small fee right?
Is the warranty global? meaning if they need repair will they be able to use their warranty in Taiwan stores?

The AppleCare + is not global so if you buy it for the US they will have to send it to you to take it in. Have them check to see if it is available in Taiwan and have them buy it when they receive the AirPod Pros when they receive them.
