I can’t get my daughters Apple Watch to pair with her phone. The phone and watch start to pair, then the phone says it needs to be updated and stops the pairing process. I check the current IOS (12.4.4) and the phone says it’s up to date and won’t allow me to update.

If the Apple Watch is running watchOS 6.1 or later, it needs an iPhone that can support iOS 13 or later (not available on iPhone 6 or 6+).
