Can Time Machine backup two HDs?

I want Time Machine to back up two HDs. Can this be done or must I move all the files on my second HD to my primary HD that Time Machine copies?

Yes, it can, if the drive is in a format Time Machine can back up. Open the Time Machine pane of System Preferences, click on Options, and if needed, remove the second drive from the exclusion list.
