MultiversePlugins directory?

Hello,

I found the following directory:

/Systems/Library/MultiversePlugins

drwxr-xr-x 4 root wheel 128 Nov 12 2018 MultiversePlugins/

Inside this directory, I discovered two items:

drwxr-xr-x 3 root wheel 96 Nov 12 2018 shutdown.plugin/

drwxr-xr-x 3 root wheel 96 Nov 12 2018 tester.plugin/

I'm trying to search through my MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Mid 2015, macOS Mojave 10.14.6, 18g2022) for any funny business. I'm experiencing strange incidents too numerous to list.

I use Intego VirusBarrier, v. 10.9.24 (1692) to scan for viruses, ransomware, malware, etc. but I'm convinced they're useless which I won't document here. I'm considering options but not ready to commit to anything at this time. Anyone with a good recommendation is welcome to comment.

Blind searches through DuckDuckGo are proving useless. I don't use Bing or Google for search whatsoever.

Searching Apple's Support pages provides no description of this directory; however, I'm not the most proficient in Apple searches.

I installed macOS Mojave in 2019 but this directory shows November 12, 2018 (?). A very curious date.

I'm a seasoned UNIX/macOS professional but I'm definitely rough around the edges when it comes to this UNIX derivative and due to my many years out of service in tech support.

Any ideas are greatly appreciated!

Thanks!
