I keep getting emails about a critical update for Adobe Flash Player. Some look legit but some look pretty sketchy. Should I update?

Not from there. A legitimate Flash update notification will come from a standalone application on your computer, or by going to a page which produces a 'Blocked Plug-In' notice, or by manually checking for updates.

Never update flash based on an email or popup messages. Instead check System Preferences for any available Flash updates (assuming Flash is installed).
Only download or update Adobe FlashPlayer from the official Adobe FlashPlayer web site. Do not download or update it thru any other App, E-Mail or other prompt.
Thanks for confirming my suspicions.
