I literally just set up screen time, confirmed passcode and then noticed something wasn’t set right. I went to change it and the passcode was incorrect. As I said I just set it, I know what it is, it just doesn’t accept it after I just confirmed it. Is there a way to get it working now or am I screwed into resetting my phone?

If you can't remember a restrictions passcode that you set on a previous version of iOS, or you forgot your Screen Time passcode, you need to erase your device, then set it up as a new device to remove the passcode. Restoring your device from a backup won't remove your passcode.
Turn your phone off then on and try again

The only way you can reset it is to Restore Your iPhone as NEW (Factory Settings) and here is how to do it-->>Restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod to factory settings - Apple Support
DO NOT restore it from a previous back because that will bring that Screen Time password back in activation.

I guess you missed the part that I know the code. I set up screen time and put in a code, put it in again to confirm, and it failed right after that. This isn’t a I forgot situation, it’s a screen time is being a failure of a piece of tech problem and I don’t want to reset my phone because screen time doesn’t work as it should.
But that’s still my problem, all answers are reset as new, but I didn’t forget the code. Screen time failed and it seems to me to be a problem that that can happen and I have to erase my phone. I’ve been on vacay so it hasn’t sent anything to iCloud all weekend so I lose it all over screen times failure

I cannot say for sure but I remember a case where the user was told to bring the phone to an Apple store with proof of purchase and they would help them you can ask support that when you talk to them.
What if there is no immediate recent backup prior to the "Screen Time" setting?
Perhaps the recent backup did not include the "Screen Time" setting after it was "just confirmed."
I did not miss anything I always include links as thousands of people with the same issue are reading these posts.
