Since I uploaded Catalina, my Teams microphone stopped working. I went into privacy and security and looked under microphone and Teams was not on the righthand table to be checked. There was no where to check microsoft Teams. It worked before.

A quick google search of your symptoms suggests that mic issues are not uncommon. In some instances Microsoft recommends that an uninstall and reinstall of the Teams app may be the fix. That's a common enough fix for many similar issues.

I recommend you uninstall the app per Microsoft's instructions, then reinstall and reevaluate the problem.

I believe you did it correctly. It seems a pretty straightforward uninstall according to this from Microsoft:

Aside from that, just empty the trash and restart the computer. Then reinstall and see if the issue is resolved.

Just to add a few other apps that aren't working with the onboard microphone since updating the OS a few weeks ago. I have bounced between Teams, and a personal version of Skype, GoToMeeting and Zoom, all of which don't work consistently. I was on a long call yesterday with Zoom and after 2.5 hours, I lost the microphone, again. I went to Zoom because GoToMeeting wouldn't work with my mic at all. My solution: AirPods almost exclusively, and, on occasion, a separate, wired camera and microphone. I just have to by-pass the built in devices until Apple comes up with a fix (hopefully, soon!).

The problem was solved by using a USB microphone, but not before I struggled for hours with the jack connection, which had worked previously.

You´d think Apple would let us know. But noooooooo.......!

I have the same issue and reinstalled and restart, but it was not fixed. This problem started when I purchased a new mac mini. (3.6GHz quad-core Intel Core i3) and updated to Catalina

Hi there, I have also just encountered this problem this past weekend and I'm stuck!!

I have tried every fix with no luck. Apple told me it was teams and Microsoft said it was Apple. Works fine on my Macbook Pro which I have not upgraded to Catalina

I did a voiceover of a video with iMovie a few months ago without problems. Now I cannot get it to work. I have updated the software since then. I certainly don´t want to trash and reload iMovie.

Unfortunately I'm using a 2019 Mac mini and I have a wired camera and microphone and neither works with teams
