my Iphone 10 screen went black after an attempted system update, now I am unable to log on or off and was told to plug the phone into my computer and update it through iTunes. My phone does not appear in the devices list. Any ideas?

How do I turn my Iphone X on from a black screen? I've tried up/down and home, and attempted to connect it to my computer using iTunes, no luck.

Let’s first see if you are doing up/down/home correctly.

  • Press and quickly release VOLUME UP
  • Press and quickly release VOLUME DOWN
  • Hold the SIDE button until an Apple logo appears (hold up to a minute)

Try repeating a couple of times if needed. The “quickly release” step is all-important.

If that doesn’t resolve the problem there are more tips in this Apple support article—>If your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch won't turn on or is frozen – Apple Support
