Email account set up

I am trying to set up an email account on a 7+ the same as our other iPhones. Every time I add the account an error message tells me it can not verify the account. I have updated the phone and deleted the old account, but every time I add the new account I get the same error message. I set the account up on an iPhone se that did not have the account set up on it and it went right through and works fine.
