Music plays randomly on ipad pro 2019

This recently started happening on my ipad pro 11". I have it hooked up at my desk to a pair of speakers and in the middle of the night music would start playing. The only way to stop it was to swipe down on the home screen and see the music playing widget and hit pause. No way to stop, force quit or other.

I tried force quitting all apps and restarting, but it never fixed the problem. I noticed just recently that the now playing widget showed an airdrop icon in the corner. So there is a clue, it's some how air-dropping to my ipad. I turned off the feature, but it makes me wonder if a neighbor is messing with me perhaps?

It seems odd that IOS would allow a foreign air drop feed to just start playing without some kind of acceptance on the device it's dropping to. This is a feature that should be implemented, or at least made as an option for opt in settings related to airdrop.

Please advise on how else this might be happenning.
