I have to send in my IPhone 11r to replace the screen, in the meantime will the 11r sim card work in an iphone 6 for the interim?

Yes.

As long as 2 phones use the same size of SIM card, you can swap them out.

If the iPhone is not locked to another Apple ID besides yours it should work fine after you activate it with your provider.
