Mac Media Update

Dear All,

You all might be aware of the Mac Media Update Pop-up which comes up sometimes. I came to face one and in my dumbest moments, I accidentally clicked on download on the popup. BUT I deleted the downloaded (.dmg) file at the same time. I didn't open the (.dmg) file and download the program into my Mac. Can a computer still be hacked even if I don't download it?

My question now is whether my computer could be at a potential risk of hijack?

Since then I have deleted the downloaded (.dmg) file, cleared my safari history and have checked in different places whether there is any sort of malware hidden, but couldnt find any.

You are probably unaffected. The download probably needed to be installed in order to affect the computer. You didn't complete the download. IMO, your computer is OK.
