upgraded to 10.5.5 no battery health option?

I just updated to 10.5.5 on my 2017 MBA, but the promised battery health option does not show in my battery energy saver preferences. I have read a number of articles in support knowledge base; they all point me to System preferences>Energy Saver>Battery and indicate a battery health button on the bottom frame.. I have none.

Anybody else have this problem?

Battery Health Management is only available for MacBooks with Thunderbolt 3 ports, which means only the 2016 MacBook Pro and 2018 MacBook Air and later have that option.

Further to my first reply;

”Apple said that the Battery Health Management feature will be available on all MacBooks that are equipped with Thunderbolt 3, so that means all MacBook Pro models from 2016 and later, and the 2018 or later MacBook Air.”

this from Macworld post on April 16.

Cannot find any Apple supplied definition of this anywhere, maybe someone can confirm?
