Can’t find lost AirPods on Search my IPhone because they are apparently not connected to iCloud.

I lost my AirPods. Can’t find them on Search my IPhone because they are apparently not connected to iCloud. Even when I asked Siri, it said: ‘there are no AirPods connected to your iCloud’. But when I still had them, I already used Search my IPhone and they were connected back then. I connected also many times with my iPhone XR. What’s the reason that I can’t find my AirPods By using search my iPhone.
