What kind of funny color? You can poke around in the accessibility settings and see if the display settings were changed to alter colors. (You an invert colors etc for those with visual disabilities)
if it’s not that then it could be possible that the equivalent of the iPad’s graphic’s card is going bad. You can make an appointment at an authorized service provider or apple store and have it evaluated and go from there.
