Apple Pencil 1st Generation

I have an iPad Air 3 and use the Apple Pencil 1st generation.

It has been working great, but, today, it was working then stopped.

Have no idea why.

Changed the tip. Nothing.

Tried to charge, did charge, nothing.

Tried to reconnect with BlueTooth, at first the iPad displayed the pencil trying to connect, then timed out.

Tried several times but now, the iPad does not display trying to connect with the pencil....

Did a soft and hard reset and other ideas found on various sites to help....

Nothing has worked.

What can I do to get the pencil to work with the iPad again?

BTW. I believe the pencil is still under warranty as it was purchased with the iPad in NOvember 2019...
