Thunderbolt Cable

Hi, I am wishing to move to a new iMac using Migration Assistant. I have been advised the best method is to use a thunderbolt cable. However my 2013 iMac is Thunderbolt 1, my 2019 iMac is Thunderbolt 3. Is there such a thing as a Thunderbolt cable that will connect them? - John.

There is a TB3 to TB2 adapter that you can use. They are available at Apple, as well as, Amazon.

Hi, I've never used Thunderbolt before. Is the TB2 fitting the same as my TB1?

You are right. TB1 and TB2 use the same connectors.
