iMovie Issues

Why won't iMovie let me split a music clip. I have followed all of the suggestions to make sure it was all selected correctly. However, the Split Clip is still grey.


Please Help :)

Also, you must remember to place the playhead at the place in the clip where you want the split to be made. If your playhead is located at the beginning or end of the timeline then the Split Clip feature will be grayed out.

Hi, InigoMontanna,


You should be able to select the audio clip and do a Modify/Split clip. Since that isn't working for you, try deleting preferences and see if that cures it.


Open iMovie while holding down the Option and Command keys and selecting to delete preferences in the box that appears. iMovie will open in a new library. Reopen your old library to get back to your projects. Now see if the split clip function works.
