New Ipad magic keyboard on new iPad Pro key board does not work consistently

I have a brand new iPad Pro and Magic Keypad love the form factor except the keyboard works only intermittently requiring me to constantly close and open ipad in order to get keyboard to type characters. My ipad OS is current 13.6. Ive detached and reattached keyboard several times to now avail as well as done a complete restart.

very FRUSTRATING!!!! Does anyone have a solution????

No fix from Apple! Went to the Genius Bar and they gave me the same BS answer for all problems they can’t fix or figure out... which was reset ipad to factory settings and download all apps individually. Total hassle and did not resolve issue. Apple has a software bug!!!! This is driving me nuts. HELP!

yeah I tried that too. Round me they say they’ve never seen this issue before and I was starting to think it was just me. I do not use zoom so it’s not an isolated issue to zoom.

sometimes I do find it’s when I’ve switched apps, e.g from pages to safari and back, but sometimes it’s out the blue.

have you reported it to Apple online too? I have, to see if they can fix the software bug. So annoying when we’ve paid so much money for the things.
