Is there a way to be able to use my Apple ID with out setting up a payment method

Apple ID - If you can‘t choose None when you edit your Apple ID payment information.     

App Store & iTunes Gift Cards by Email.     

Gift cards redeem.    

Gift Card - can’t redeem.    

Where do you want to use it then?

The payment method is how Apple identifies you.

Note: Updates and free apps are still free with a valid payment info.

If you don't want to use a credit card, you can buy and redeem iTunes gift card.
