Export Error

Sometimes a corrupt preference can cause export problems. Try opening iMovie while holding down the

Option and Command keys and selecting to delete preferences in the box that appears. iMovie will open in a new library. Reopen your old library to get back to your projects. Now see if you can export the movie.

Sometimes an issue is confined to just one project. Try doing an Edit/Select All, Edit/Copy, of the media in your project, then then Edit/Paste the media into a newly created project. Try to share out from the new project.

Also, possibly there is a corrupt frame in the project that is impeding the export. Expand your timeline with the slider above the timeline to the right, and scroll through the movie looking for black frames, white flashes, artifacts, and any other signs of corruption. Cut out any that you find and see if you can export. Good to work with a duplicate of the project so that you preserve your original.

You can also try opening iMovie in a new library by holding down the Option key as you open and selecting to create a new library in the box that appears. Then copy your project into the new library and see if it shares properly from there.
