earphone quandry

My new ipad mini 5 came without earphones. Can I use the ones from my Samsung tablet or from an old iphone? Do I have to buy something extra ?

you should be able to use any 3.5mm minijack headset ever created even ones from a 1983 sony walkman it's an industrial standard
