HomePod no longer playing artists

I found this in another thread from 2019 and it worked for me today (2020-09-05):

"go into the Home app on your iPhone or iPad and tap on the small Home icon that is on the upper left of the screen. Then select the "People" icon (or yourself) and turn OFF the "Siri:Recognize My Voice" option."

I’m having the same issue. Some of the ones it wouldn’t play last night it will tonight? But now there are additional artist requests that get that same response. There doesn’t seem to be rhyme or reason!

I haven’t found any solutions yet.

Exactly the same here! I searched the internet for the past couple days and found no helpful advice... Then, I just now found your post! Glad it just isn’t me, but something’s going on.

Right—I thought the same thing. I did update my phone, but this actually started happening the day of the update, though prior to me actually updating my phone.

If you haven't already done so try rebooting your router and power cycle your HomePod.

Thanks, RunHikeMike. Unfortunately, I did try this and still no luck. Will continue to trouble until I have time to call Apple Support. Thanks, again!

this worked for me just now. Turned off personal requests for myself, tested Siri (playing an artist worked fine), turned it back on, tested Siri again, and it works fine.

I’ve tried this, rebooting, and factory resetting to no avail. Any other ideas?
