If I have Time Machine backups made on Mavericks, can I restore the backups on a new Mac running Mojave or Catalina? Is it possible to skip a few operating systems?

Hello sil5,

We certainly understand how important it is to have the ability to restore your Mac from a backup and we'll be glad to help.

Here's a great article to guide you through restoring that backup: Restore your Mac from a backup

You should be able to restore your files from a previous version of macOS through those steps.

Let us know if you have further questions!

Take care!
