Mac Os search
why does the search on my system not work correctly?
spotlight never works and searching through the files system is hit and miss all the time. especially when i know the file is there. VERY ANNOYING

Because you are not using Spotlight to your advantage. The following would narrow your search to any file whose name contained the numeric string:
name:634019518
or you could be more specific to one image type:
kind:image +.jpg name:634019518
Simply entering the numeric string without a Spotlight keyword would apply the search to every selected item in your System Preferences : Spotlight : Search Results categories, and also expend useless time searching where it was not needed.
