How do I change an email address on iCloud account if the email it is showing no longer exist.

How do I change an email address on iCloud account is email address no longer exist. I’ve updated my Apple ID but every time I go to log in on my desktop it gives me a message that the email doesn’t exist. It won’t let me log in with old address and PW. It says password is wrong.
