I live in Hawaii. I would like to purchase a new iPad in a few weeks. However, I will be moving to China in about two months.
Will my American purchased iPad still work in China? It's an iPad Gen 6.
If so, will I need to just purchase a new charger for it once I get there at Apple China?

Would it work? It depends what you are specifying.
WiFi works the same between both countries. Cellular I'm not sure about, you'll need to contact your cellular provider if its a cellular model.
Specific American websites are banned in China (youtube, etc.) Other than that, it should work as normally. And yes, buy that adapter.
