True, but then you just enter your passcode when you have a mask on. We won't likely be wearing masks the rest of our lives however, so to me it's not an issue. iPhone 12 will run circles around an iPhone 7 these days.

Certainly your choice. But Face ID is in my opinion, far superior to Touch ID.

It will cost you $319 USD to repair your iPhone 7. You can by the iPhone SE 2020, which has Touch ID and the same internal parts as the iPhone 11, for $399.
