Safari browser won't support some website

i have a 2009 mac book pro 15" version os x yosemite 10.10.5, is there a new version that i can update on my mac it keeps saying my safari browser won't support some website's, i checked to see if i needed any updates and i don't have any please help thank you

Back up your data, check your applications for compatibility, and download El Capitan through the link provided; it's a full-version upgrade and won't appear in the Updates list. If you find that version isn't sufficient or don't want to upgrade the OS, switch web browsers.
