From recovery mode

Unable to set startup disk / authentication failed

Recovery is trying to change system settings / No Administrator was Found

MacBook Pro 13″, macOS 11.0

This fix is the correction that worked, with no problems. User data was downloaded from 11 year old iMac 21"

As of Nov 27, these are some other issues

Pages and Numbers Apps do not install

Microsoft Excel is installed, works, but not fully tested.

Microsoft Word did not install.


System Preferences / Desktop and Screen Saver Start After time i.e. like 1 Hour(and others) are much less than shown which is annoying
