mac password not updating

I forgot the password to login to my Macbook. I successfully updated the password on via appleid.apple.com. However, this is not syncing with my Mac, even when I click the reset password prompt - the system is not recognizing that I've changed my appleid password. I don't have much on the laptop- should I remove the device from my appleid and start over. If so, how do I start over?

Mac Password Hello. I have a Macbook Pro from 2014, I have never updated, and since I am working on a different computer for a company I work for, my macbook was in a closet. Today I am trying to enter the computer, but first of all, I do not remember the password. Once I try to use my Apple ID and password, it is not recognizing. I have two different Apple IDs and I reset both of them with new passwords. Even still the macbook pro 2014 is not recognizing it. Any idea how can I succeed? Thanks. Vini

Software Update Password Problem I tried to update the software on my MacBook Air but the system did not accept my Apple ID password. I thought I must have forgotten the correct password so I changed it. The software update system still didn't accept my new Apple ID password, nor the user password I'd set on the MacBook. Can anyone help?
