Duplicate Devices in AppleID list after upgrading to Big Sur

After upgrading to Big Sur, I now have duplicate listing of the device I upgraded, a MacBook Pro.

As the attached screenshots show, one device shows OS 10, and the other shows OS 11.

(The serial numbers shown are identical.)

Duplicate #1 details:

Duplicate #2 details:

What do I need to do to delete the device listed with the older OS, so that it does not affect the iCloud data for the actual (upgraded) device?

Use this to see where you’re currently signed in - Check your Apple ID device list to see where you're signed in - Apple Support, and if all looks okay, then - View and remove your associated devices for purchases - Apple Support.

Hello Zinacef,

I did as suggested using my MacBook Pro, and clicked to remove its duplicate self. It looked like it was going to work, but then it didn't get removed. Apparently you can't use the same Mac as the duplicate you're trying to remove, because when I used my iPhone to remove the duplicate MacBook Pro from iCloud, it worked.

Thanks,

-Tom
