Can’t connect iPad (Pro 9.7) to my Apple Watch (Series 4) to use with Fitness +
I fixed it!
Thanks for all this help. I did three things and the combination did the trick for me.
The exact steps i did are below, but the ones above might be enough to fix it.
Ok, I finally fixed it using these steps above and the thread on reddit

Overall what i did is,
1) Installed /opened Home app on iPhone
2) Installed /opened Home app on Ipad
3) Made sure in General - Icloud, keychain was selected to backup on both iPhone and iPad (also toggled it off and on)
4) Deleted fitness app on Ipad
5) logged out of icloud on ipad
5)Logged back in to icloud on ipad
6) Installed the fitness app again
7)Verified that I am still logged in on appleId/Icloud on phone (for some reason it asked my password again there)
8) Opened Fitness on iPad and it found my watch.
Also some steps might have not been necessary but i do not know which one, so i wrote all steps I did.
Fixed!
on ipad: 1) delete fitness app. 2) settings- log out of iCloud. 3) log back into iCloud 4) enter App Store (log in)- 5) re download fitness app- FIXED
i think some who used the link going around prematurely d/l app and caused conflict.
I repeated those exact steps and and still having the issue :(. Same apple id on all devices, and all are updated....
on ipad: 1) delete fitness app. 2) settings- log out of iCloud. 3) log back into iCloud 4) enter App Store (log in)- 5) re download fitness app- FIXED
May need to unpair/ repair your watch to iphone....takes 15 mins
then soft reboot all three devices (watch, iphone, ipad)
then repeat steps above
(i did all of this and it now works) was driving me nuts

WHY does it take so many steps to get this to work i have no clue. Also some steps might have not been necessary but i do not know which one, so i wrote all steps I did.
There is an on going issue with it.
iPad Pro 12.9 (2017) and Apple Watch SE. fitness + works well with my iPhone 11 but it does not work with the iPad.
Enabling keychain on both iPhone and iPad sorted out the problem. Thanks for all your help.
I have same issue with iPad. Works well with iPhone.
This worked for me. Thanks
this worked great, thank you!
This worked for me and my husband, thank you!
I initially tried the suggestions and it didn't work. I then realized that one step mentioned to toggle off/on Keychain. I tried that and surprisingly it worked on my iPad Pro 10.5.
OPENING (not just installing) the home app was the step that seems to have made it work for me. Thank you very much!
