Why aren't my Home Videos available via the Apple TV app?

Apple TV app just released for my Sony 75" Bravia. Thinking I could do away with my Apple TV 4K box but no; Home Videos don't seems to be available via the app. Any clues as to why?

Home Sharing is not a supported feature with the Apple TV app on third party devices. Many other features too are available on the Apple TV box, but not in the Apple TV app.

Seems that Home Sharing is not supported on third party devices.

Try on the Computers app, if home sharing is turned on.

Use Home Sharing to share media from a computer to other devices - Apple Support

So, after waiting for months for the app, it's virtually useless for my needs and I still need my Apple TV box to stream my content. Thanks anyway for your quick response.
