I still use a 16gb iPhone 6S plus. I have 15 apps installed, with no downloaded songs, photos or videos (all are in google photos). I currently have about 2.5gb storage left.

Look in Settings, General, Iphone storage
Check out any recommendations.
Consider offloading apps from there then reinstalling, the latest should install.
