Lost Airpods. No longer on 'find my' options

I lost my Airpods. They have been present on the 'find my screen' for the past few days, but I still haven't found them. This morning, they are no longer on the 'find my' as listed as one of my devices. Does this mean that someone stole them and they no longer will register?
