Having an issue with Preview

Hi Mac geniuses!

We have two Mac computers, one an older MacBook Pro laptop, and a newer iMac desktop.

Both have the typical series of Mac programs, including Preview.

I am attempting to print out some PDF's in Preview and I'm having a problem seeing them correctly.

In the first image, you'll see that most of the image is missing. It would appear that only the info that a user inputted into the writable PDF is appearing, plus some yellow rectangles that are meant to highlight sections of the image, which you'll notice in the second image.

The second image is much closer to what I'd like to see and print, however, what are those yellow squares? I'm not sure what they are, nor how to get rid of them. In addition, why are they there at all?

Those yellow boxes are note annotations. If you click on them, they will expand and you can see the note contents. They may not be in their original intended location on the PDF. If you want to remove them, you can press ⌘+i to open the Preview Inspector panel, and the right-most toolbar icon in that inspector lists the various annotations. You can select a note annotation, and backspace to remove it.
