My mum has got my phone linked to her's and she has an apple music account that she pays for monthly. I have my own personal apple ID but like I said it is linked through family sharing so I was wandering if there was a way to link the account but not have all of my mums music (without deleting any of it off her phone) and the payment would be free and I can just have my own music.

She can upgrade to a shared subscription level and then share the subscription with you. Since you are using your own Apple ID you would each have your own collection. Items could be shared. Read these links:
