iCloud photos

My photos aren’t backing up even though I have 1.78 TB available. Please help!

Are you using iCloud Photos? If so, photos are not backed since they are already included in iCloud. For more info, see the second footnote in:

What does iCloud back up? - Apple Support

Unfortunately this means that if you delete a photo it will also be deleted in iCloud with no opportunity to restore it (except from your recently deleted folder). However, with that much storage available, there should be no need to delete photos.
